If The Sims 4 is not fun anymore, step away. Constantly criticizing it while refusing to move on helps no one. It's tough to let go of something you once loved, but clinging to resentment only drags the community down. Let others enjoy without the negativity, and let yourself explore something new.

I did some research and apparently sometimes with new computers OD can get aggressive about downloading files. I couldn't even install the sims on here at first because it kept replacing the sims files with files from one drive.

OneDrive makes me so angry. The computer I'm currently on will forever be messed up because OD, unknown to me, backed up an entire laptop and then when I first started this computer up aggressively downloaded that entire laptop onto this computer, including changing the BIOS.

Pics turning black is a symptom of something going wrong and has been an issue for years and years, many different causes.
There's a bug report for these you can use here: forums.ea.com/idea/the-sim...

But I don't want to exclude the possibility that the mod bug also affects pics in some way.

the missing photos is a known issue from long before the patch. the missing inventory seems to be down to mods, specifically mccc as reported by crinrict

PLEASE BACKUP YOUR SAVES! If I had been responsible and done that for me before my computer died, I would have not had to rebuild so much that I lost because I haven't backed up for months

So do you people not back up your saves? Why are you all constantly so terrified of losing photos or entire saves? I back up my save files at least once a month. Get yourself an external hard drive and calm down.
