It’s a relief not to have to face Hiroshima again after Sunday’s 2nd leg.

While some of their counterattacking play is seriously impressive, the constant moaning to the referee (usually from Sho Sasaki) is beyond tedious.

The cynical fouling on halfway to stop breakaways is also a bit much IMO.

Things might have been different when Solomon Sakuragawa rose to meet a corner early in the 2nd half, but his header rattled the crossbar & Hiroshima escaped.

The visitors also had a ‘goal’ disallowed after a VAR check (such a blatant foul that it’s incredible the goal was initially given).

Full-time at Mitsuzawa, & Yokohama FC’s hopes of reaching the Levain Cup Final seem remote after a 0-2 defeat against a very slick Hiroshima.

Yotaro Nakajima fired in off the post to make it 1-0 in the 1st half, & Shuto Nakano lobbed an out-of-position Akinori Ishikawa for a superb 2nd late on.

After a hard-fought 90 minutes at Mitsuzawa, a brilliant 1st-half strike from university rookie Kyo Hosoi has given Yokohama FC a vital 1-0 win over relegation rivals Shonan (our only double of the season).

Not the prettiest game, but beautiful in its own (attritional) way.

We’re still alive!

Full time at Mitsuzawa, & it’s one of those all-too-rare days when everything has gone perfectly for Yokohama FC.

We’ve earned a hard-fought 1-0 win over relegation rivals Niigata thanks to a fantastic Adailton goal in the 86th minute. Not the prettiest 90 minutes ever, but winning is just huge.
