so the whole argument here in this smart thread is: oh, we're called americans before this country was founded* by colonizers who decimated tons of people, so let's keep using it! why not? it might be easier just to admit that u like the colonizer term than to appeal to the bs "it will never change"
If your argument involves referring to Americans as “USians” it doesn’t matter how cogent the rest of your point may be tbh
