So, a little about me and my book.
When you’re widowed nobody gives you a handbook of what to expect, what resources you’ll need, what to look out for.
I kept a diary during the 93 days while my husband was dying in 2016.
It became my book, “Who Will Kiss Me Goodnight?”
I hope you’ll check it out.
What's understood never has to be explained.
Fortunately, I’m in a position where I may be able to help a few folks.
What I have, I am willing to share.
We are all in this together.

Don’t be afraid or embarrassed to send me a private message. I am more than happy to help and I’ll send DoorDash or InstaCart to you with what you need.
No one has to know and I will pretend it never happened.

If you know or if you are one of the people who will not be getting SNAP benefits in November and you are struggling to make ends meet and running out of food or necessities... please don’t let yourself or your kids go to sleep with an empty stomach.

We'll be turning the clocks back soon.
Getting an extra hour in 2025 is like getting a bonus track on a Yoko Ono album. 🙄
And on Thanksgiving you won’t be scrambling to hunt down the parsley, sage, rosemary or thyme.

You’re welcome. 🍁 🦃🍂 🥧🍁
Voilà - when Thanksgiving week arrives, the only things you’ll need to pick up will be fresh produce and your bird.

Now you can look smug as all get out when you quickly cruise past all those shoppers with overloaded baskets and shell-shocked patrons staring at the cash register total.
Starting this week, every time you go shopping, add one or two (or preferably three) Thanksgiving dinner specific items to your list.

Set them aside when you get home in your turkey-day area.
3. Designate a special “Thanksgiving ingredients only” area in your kitchen or pantry. Move your staples and necessary spices there.

Now… Here’s the “magic” - especially if you’re a weekly shopper.
1. Make a list of everything you’re planning to serve AND all of the ingredients you’ll need.

2. Check your spices and staples (flours, sugars, etc.) to make sure you have enough and that they’re fresh.
Oh hai.

Since we are five weeks away from Thanksgiving, this is my handy-dandy annual unsolicited advice.
(If you’ve been shopping lately, it’s even more timely this year, IMNSHO).

If you’re in charge of preparing the holiday feast, sit down pronto and do the following:

Hundreds and hundreds of signs and thousands of people here in #StamfordCT, but I don’t know if anyone’s going to top this! #nokings
On Indigenous Peoples Day: Photo taken in 1912 of Ute Indians on horseback following the Ute Trail below Gray Rock in the Garden of the Gods. (5 minutes from my house).
The Ute Trail is one of the oldest known American Indian trails.
Since the Mango Messiah was seen cozying up to the Boy Wonder at the rally/funeral thingy in AZ yesterday - I’m almost willing to bet that there’s gonna be some kind of AI thing happening tomorrow OR the 24th.
Just a gut feeling.
