Which inevitably makes people who don't want them or shouldn't have them birth kids completely unprepared and full of regret they then take out on the kids. Nevermind even if they DO want kids, our natal education is completely fucked. No one is prepared and everyone is overwhelmed

That period of "your only value is having kids" really didn't help us as a society. This lingering "having kids is the only way to have purpose"/"it's your job to spawn children" pressure makes everyone feel like they HAVE to have kids even if on some level they don't, and to mark it off like a list
