Is Nikola Vučević underrated — or overhated — in his role with Chicago Bulls?

“Whatever. Who cares? He’s super important.”

On Vooch’s growth, his limitations, and his role as both scapegoat and stabilizer:
Is Nikola Vučević underrated — or overhated — with Chicago Bulls? ‘Whatever. Who cares? He’s super important.’
In the four years since he first arrived in Chicago, Nikola Vučević has emerged as a mixture of scapegoat and villain in the eyes of many Bulls fans.

"I adore playing with her, and I adore her off the field. I definitely want to see her lift that trophy.”

Rose Lavelle likely would’ve won 2023 Final MVP if she’d been on the winning side. This year, coming off “a pretty big surgery” she’s back in the big game with the team who beat her.
Can Gotham FC's Rose Lavelle Win Her First NWSL Championship?
In the midst of a unique soccer career, Gotham midfielder Rose Lavelle sets sights on the one title that's eluded her — an NWSL Championship.

This has been a consistent message from the locker room all week.

The Bulls have finished 11 of their 16 games in the clutch this season. They don’t enjoy that, even when they’re winning.
I love how he’s calling the team out right now in the postgame interview, to take the win, but the need to be better because it can’t be sustained.

Bulls come back from a 16-point deficit to clinch another clutch win.

28 points from Vooch, 20 from Coby White, another 18 from Josh Giddey.

Big fourth quarter from Tre Jones, who scored the final points of the game and forced the final turnover.

Final score: 121-120

Here comes Noa Essengue.

Makes his NBA debut in the 16th game of the season.

Matas Buzelis will play today, per Billy Donovan. Kevin Huerter will “try” but he’s still battling illness.

Isaac Okoro, Patrick Williams and Dalen Terry are all out.

Those injuries to the forwards mean that Noa Essengue likely makes his debut: “It definitely could happen.”

Matas Buzelis (right ankle sprain), Kevin Huerter (illness), Isaac Okoro (lower back, pinched nerve) and Patrick Williams (left wrist sprain) are questionable for tonight’s game.

Dalen Terry (left calf strain) is doubtful.

Noa Essengue played his second game with Windy City last night before being recalled by the Bulls today.

Between minutes restrictions and last night’s injuries, the Bulls could be incredibly short handed by the fourth quarter tonight. Feels like a prime opportunity for Noa to see his debut.

“I’m proud of it. All of it”

Longevity is a rarity in the NBA. But for four decades, John Paxson has been a constant in Chicago.

Ahead of his Ring of Honor induction, I talked with Pax about loyalty and regret and what it means to build a home in a team:
John Paxson joining Chicago Bulls Ring of Honor after 4 decades with franchise: ‘I’m proud of it. All of it.’
John Paxson’s 40-year tenure with the Chicago Bulls as a player, assistant coach, broadcaster, executive and adviser encapsulate the best years of the franchise. But there were hard times too…

Death, taxes and the Chicago Bulls getting embarrassed by the Miami Heat in must-win games.

Final scoreline: 143-107. Three players injured, one ejected, one fouled out.

Bulls are now all but eliminated from NBA Cup advancement after two group stage losses.

Matas Buzelis (right ankle) and Dalen Terry (left calf) are also out for the rest of the game, per Bulls PR.
November 22, 2025 at 3:15 AM
Isaac Okoro is questionable to return to this game with a lower back injury, per Bulls PR.

Matas Buzelis is back in the game after getting his ankle checked out in the locker room.
November 22, 2025 at 2:43 AM
Kevin Huerter has been ejected with a technical foul. He smacked a ball out of frustration and the ball bounced into referee Che Flores. The Bulls bench is ardently arguing that one, but it's already been upheld.
November 22, 2025 at 2:39 AM
Isaac Okoro now doubled over holding his left hamstring/glute area. Gutted it out to take free throws after drawing a foul, but immediately got a sub to get out of the game.
November 22, 2025 at 2:35 AM
Matas walked off the court on his own, but was holding onto medical staffers to steady him. Headed to the locker room now.
Matas Buzelis just went down while trying to drive to the basket and is holding his right ankle. Play stopped for medical to tend to him.

Billy Donovan says he’s open to two-big lineups when Zach Collins gets back. Might need to use all three bigs in the rotation due to the pace of play.

Feels positively about Jalen Smith’s production, seems like he could retain some of his minutes even when Zach returns.

Coby White will not play tonight. Tre Jones is back.

The Bulls pulled off another heart stopping, buzzer beating win in the clutch.

So why were the celebrations muted?

On close calls and the necessity of “sustainable” basketball:
Chicago Bulls beat the Portland Trail Blazers on another buzzer-beater — but ‘that’s not sustainable basketball’
While the Chicago Bulls are relieved to sit two games above .500 once again, the celebration was tinged with a queasiness that comes from one too many close calls.

The Bulls might be addicted to clutch games. Blazers just cut the lead to four points with 4:40 left to play.

Coby White is 4-for-6 from 3-point range in fewer than 19 minutes so far tonight. Looks like himself.
