pretty cool regional moment to see Dana Evans and Jewell Loyd hooping like this in the finals

Also notable: Angel said former Sky coach Teresa Weatherspoon was her “backbone” this season.

Added that they watched film after every game.

Angel Reese teased the first episode of her new podcast season as being an “exit interview my way.”

Did not mention the Sky by name once in the episode. Only Chicago reference is talking about Caleb Williams going to her nail tech.

Patrick Williams left practice today. Billy Donovan said it looks like an ankle sprain, severity is uncertain.

Josh Giddey dominated the spotlight for most of an otherwise sleepy summer for the Bulls.

Back in Chicago now, he voiced relief that the negotiation process was finally completed. But he also disputed rumors that he had grown frustrated with the front office at any point.

What we learned at Chicago Bulls training camp, including Josh Giddey’s relief and Coby White’s calf strain
Despite a long period of negotiations in restricted free agency, Josh Giddey always planned on a return to Chicago.

This was also going on during Taste of Chicago, which is held less than 3 miles away. Just hilariously offensive all around.

Chicago Sky coach Tyler Marsh was out observing Bulls training camp today. Still has a strong relationship with Jalen Smith from their time at Indiana.

One of my first experiences covering Cathy Engelbert as WNBA commissioner was when she named gun violence as the main reason why the league refused to open up a Chance the Rapper concert to the public during All-Star weekend in Chicago. Didn’t get much buzz at the time but always stuck with me.

Napheesa Collier's full statement at the beginning of her exit interview.

She directly quotes conversations with Cathy Englebert that legitimately call into question how the WNBA is being led. (Part 1/2) #WNBASky

Isaac Okoro says he was in a hot Pilates class when the Cavaliers traded him to Chicago. Had a great class, came out and immediately got the call from his agent.

(For the record, he’s still looking for a new Pilates studio in Chicago.)

The Eastern Conference might be wide open this season — but the Bulls are still focused on the long-term future.

What that means for the playoffs and beyond as the front office sticks to the mantra of “building while competing.”
Even in a wide-open East, Chicago Bulls’ main goal this season is development — not playoffs
Chicago Bulls executive VP Artūras Karnišovas repeatedly emphasized the team’s mantra of “building while competing” — an ethos focused firmly on the future.

Matas Buzelis has set some high goals for himself this season, including winning Most Improved Player.

“I want to be coached as an All-Defensive guy.”

Josh Giddey on re-signing with the Bulls: “I never had any worries I wasn't going to be here. This was where I wanted to be.”

Coby White tried to go pescatarian this summer.

It lasted about a month because he is allergic to shellfish, so he was basically eating salmon every day.

(He’s now added in chicken and says that adapted diet is working out well.)

The Bulls are still determining a plan for Noa Essengue in his rookie season.

Training camp and preseason will inform a lot.

AK and Billy Donovan both emphasized his youth and the length of development process that the team is expecting for him.

AK on Coby White: “Hopefully he’s going to be here for a long time.”

Did not specify how the Bulls plan to approach his potential extension this season.

This was individual player choice.

It’s as significant as it needs to be. Certainly reflects the discomfort that currently defines this team, which is not ideal heading into this major offseason.

Is it generally the player or team’s choice to hold interviews, and is it significant for a team to cancel these? What do you think it means?

The Sky have officially canceled exit interviews for Angel Reese, Courtney Vandersloot and Ariel Atkins.

Exit interviews are voluntary so there are no repercussions for player involvement in this part of the media cycle.

Kahleah Copper dealt with significant injury for the first time this season. She still is not as “springy” as she’d like.

How does she manage that during the playoffs?

“It's no different than just some regular-ass life shit. Make fucking lemonade out of lemons.“

After injury setbacks, Kahleah Copper brings ‘just a kid from North Philly’ energy to Mercury, WNBA playoffs
Copper underwent arthroscopic knee surgery in May and needed to acclimate herself to a new-look Mercury roster. Phoenix will host the Liberty in a decisive Game 3 Friday night.

Also sounds like exit interviews for Angel Reese, Courtney Vandersloot and Ariel Atkins could potentially be delayed into next week
