This oil on canvas painted at the end of the garden went through various phases. It looks interesting at this stage but went on to get stodgy and overworked. I have it in mind to attack this one again when the weather gets warmer. It's taking up space so it's that or maybe chuck it.

I think PM Carney is more savvy than you are giving him credit for, and that much of what has been "discussed" won't actually end up happening because required conditions won't be met.

The truth is buried within the article. Smith is now saddled with the task of a) getting Indigenous communities onboard b) getting investment c) getting BC on board before anything will happen. None of which she will be able to do.

Hell to pay for what? How would she prove to anyone in AB that Carney screwed it up when he has been open to the process the whole time. The conditions are clear and now its up to Alberta to make the case to BC govt and FN. Also the regulations are only laxxed if all of those are cleared.

I hope that this is not truly Charlie Angus, because I like Charlie Angus's fight for Canada, the resistance against fascism ... These types of comments do not do Canada any good. There are summary conditions and hurdles for Smith to overcome as well as conditions to be met. Suckered not likely.

I think Carney won this one. We get industrial carbon tax and a huge carbon capture program. She gets … a talking point to bring to her leadership convention. She gets no $. She has to find investors and negotiate with BC and indigenous people.

If we don't move fast on this, we'll be sorry. Who says SM is so necessary? Rather than bringing people close together (the initial thought a la Zuckerberg), it's done the opposite. PM needs to get a super smart team on this before there's no going back.
