The presence of truth and justice will always provoke people’s inner demons. I think that’s why Jesus said he came not to bring peace but a sword. He was fully aware that the birth of a new creation would involve labor pains.

I love his laid-back personality. He's easily a solid ten.

It’s possible to disagree with someone and still show them empathy. It’s possible to dislike someone and still show them compassion.

Judgement isn’t the absence of critique but the withholding of grace.

Following Jesus isn’t primarily about escaping hell or getting into heaven, it’s about severing our allegiance to hellish systems and trusting God to bring heaven down to earth.

That's what we all need to happen right now. #hope. 💝
God often takes what seems like the end of the world and uses it to start something new.

I invite maga Christians to make a choice: you can be loyal to Jesus, or you can be loyal to this president. You cannot be loyal to both. What they want and how they go about getting it could not be more different.

Growing up in the heartland I was constantly bullied for not being enough like the other boys. It never “fixed” me, but it made me care for and identify with marginalized people everywhere.

I’d rather be like me, than them.
I’d rather be wrong about things and loving to people than right about things and hateful to people.

You can be gay and Christian
You can be bi and Christian
You can be ace and Christian
You can be trans and Christian

I know because many of the best Christians I’ve met are queer. It’s almost like authenticity is an important part of following Jesus.

I prefer my Christianity without all the syncretism and cult-like qualities.

I don't push religion for anyone but this guy. That's because this guy spreads the right message. 🩷
What’s amazing about the penitent thief on the cross next to Christ was that he saw salvation in Jesus when effectively everyone else assumed he had been defeated. He recognized something the church in America desperately needs to see: God doesn’t think of winning the way we do.

I identify as a progressive Christian—mostly to stand in solidarity with others who have experienced harm in conservative Christian spheres. But my loyalty isn’t to the left of center, it’s to Christ who is above all the labels. If you’re conservative and kind, we can be friends.

Open invitation. If anyone would like to say sorry for re-electing this absolute embarrassment of a president I will receive your apology with gratitude and grace.

If society is falling it probably has something to do with taking toxic ideologies and slapping Jesus labels on them.

Dunking on other religions doesn’t make Christianity look good, it just makes Christians look bad.

Forgiveness doesn't mean freedom from consequences

Jesus can forgive your soul
Your ass is still going to jail
Jesus didn’t die to give Christians immunity from accountability.

I guess it shouldn’t surprise us if the same people who’ve made excuses for predatory pastors are continuing to stand by this president.

The Jesus I know would end the careers of 99 politicians if it meant a single survivor would have a better night’s sleep.
