SST anomaly in the Catalan Sea breaks records. A compact mass of water with a surface temperature higher than 29ºC occupies the central part of the Balearic Sea. At the regional level, the water reached, at the beginning of the month, a higher temperature than that of the warmest peak of 2024.🧪🌊

Omega Nebula M17 at 5000-6000 light-years from us. It is 15 light-years in diameter approx. Its local geometry is similar to that of the Orion Nebula, except that it is viewed edge-on rather than face-on (Wikipedia)

Not exactly true. This has been computed using a fixed baseline. It has been demonstrated that the use of a fixed baseline overestimates MHW in warming seas. The long-term temperature warming should be separated from the transient and abrupt temperature changes to well define MHW
