In 11 days I’ll officially be midway through my 40s and tonight I’m feeling very grateful to have made it through another day, week, month and almost another year. Determined to make the most of every second and to not take any of it for granted. Would love to make it 45 more years!

My family is taking me to the Kennedy Center this weekend to see one of my all-time favorite children’s books performed as a bilingual play as an early birthday treat and I’m super stoked!

My nearly 79-year old uncle just now about his late brother-in-law, my dad:
I’ve never seen anything so unfair in my life. He was so healthy and always working to improve himself and he got the shit end of the stick and now I have no one to argue with. I told him he was becoming a socialist. 😭💗

Almost had Mr. SC and one of our boys sold on joining a family 5k turkey trot until they realized it would be 35° and they’d need to be ready to run at 7 this morning. So we ate Chinese food and watched Ted Lasso and The Last Waltz last night and slept in this morning instead. Solid choice.

I’m thankfully not in the office today but it sounds like there’s been a shooting at my Metro stop, which has had a heavy National Guard presence for months. Hoping and praying no one’s been hurt or killed.
