thank you for all the support; the statement from our union is now live here with some more reporting.

now that this is public I can confirm that the majority of today’s layoffs were women of color. there are no longer any Black women working at Teen Vogue.
I am so sorry to see this. Like so many other people, I’ve really admired your reporting! Sending you the best vibes on what’s next
✨✨✨✨ huge news!!! breaking one might say!! local bookworm finishes sophie hood! after weeks of counting and anguish and wondering what the next multiple of six is and when (if ever) this project will be done!! it is off the needles and on my head and I am very proud of it 🔵🧵🐳
me every time I buy a massive amount of yarn for no reason: yes this will fix me
local girl turns pile of yarn into first knit sweater!!! ✨💚☘️🌿🌱
thank you!! it’s making me think of moss
started work on my first knit sweater this week!! mistakes galore but look at that gorgeous green texture 💚🍀

After 4 months of a near-total Israeli siege, Gaza’s hospitals now have wards for the malnourished children whose tiny bodies are just the width of their bones. Aid groups had warned of this for more than a year. Now a worst case scenario is upon us. www.washingtonpost.com/world/2025/0...
Mass starvation stalks Gaza as deaths from hunger rise
Aid agencies warned for months that Israel’s harsh limits on food aid would bring acute malnutrition and widespread suffering to Gaza’s 2.1 million people.

lastly I know this is a story that brings up a lot of strong feelings for folks (for valid reasons) so I totally get it if you don’t want to engage!

but know that it this was something I thought deeply about during the reporting process and did my best to treat with care!
I also very much wanted to explore how publishing’s pivot to Dramione would land in 2025, for readers who once loved Harry Potter but want nothing to do with the franchise after JKR’s many painful comments about trans people
I’ve always been curious about publishing’s relationship with fanfiction. so when I saw that three dramione coded books were coming out in one year I knew that I had to do some digging about how these books came to be! why this couple and why now? this piece is my attempt at figuring out an answer
of course the yarn store is closed when I want to start a new project! time to buy a sheep and do it myself 🧶
