I find it strange that Walker isn’t often mentioned in the same way that we talk about Waddle, Sheridan and Hirst. He’s the best defender I’ve ever seen in an Owls shirt by far. I think it’s possibly because he was in the side that got relegated in 2000. Without him, we’d have gone down way earlier.

Hypothetically speaking, if a football club that youve given your life to goes out of business. what next? I can’t watch league football as a neutral, but the idea of adopting a new team feels utterly wrong. it’s an existential crisis. Glad it’s obviously only hypothetical clearly #swfc

This is heartbreaking. People’s lives are being affected, and a very real chance that there will be no club to start the season. My only hope is that Chansiri would rather sell for something, rather than destroy an asset completely. Such a sad situation for all of us.
Journalist Alan Biggs on X.
Can’t move for hearing unsolicited suggestions from well-connected sources of more disruption behind the scenes at #SWFC. Some staff said to be on the point of walking out, leaving etc. A moving story in every sense. Horrendous. Feel for all those affected.

Hi @philippeauclair.bsky.social - further to my note last week, the situation at #SWFC is predictably starting to snowball now. Banned from any paid transfers until 2027, no new player registrations currently and the annual community “Owls in the Park” shindig has been cancelled on ‘safety grounds’

Where is Dejphon Chansiri? At a time where a business he owns is on its knees, he has disappeared. Silence from the club. This is a sporting scandal hammering a once great British sporting institution. A genuine possibility there will be no club to start the season in August. #swfc

And re the players and manager - I’d run an absolute mile. I don’t expect an inch of loyalty and rightly so. Would I stay for an employer who doesn’t pay me? Absolutely not. I’d get out and find an employer I trust and respect #swfc

We run the real risk of having no players and no manager at the start of the season. Therefore by default, no club. #swfc

Hi @priceoffootball.bsky.social I seem to recall that PFA regs mean that players can break their contracts if they haven’t been paid for 14 days after wages due. Is this right? If so #swfc have 4 days left until those left can just walk. Nothing from the club/owner for days. Scary times
June 9, 2025 at 10:21 PM
According to the great @priceoffootball.bsky.social Chansiri was originally after £350m for the owls - laughable. Realistically £50m is about right. The challenge is that we need the right person and fast. What gives me no confidence is that the current owner will be the arbiter of who buys us.

Ive had a season ticket for over 30 years at #swfc and it breaks my heart but I’m done. The systematic destruction of my club cannot go on. Change must happen or we die. I fear a fire sale to a Lyle Lanley style chancer but at the moment we are a laughing stock. Chansiri must go and fast

Find me a worse piece of #FPL judgement than taking a -4 at 1055am to take Chris Wood OUT of your squad. Purely to be able to bring Moyes in as AM.

You won’t find one.

I thought Shea had returned to Southampton? #swfc
The Owls side to take on the Robins is in….
Thoughts? #swfc

The quality of both of these teams is remarkable. Astonishing how, 30 years later I can still remember all 22 players.

That Ajax team is unbelievable, and shows how much football has pivoted to the Premier League, Bundesliga and La Liga since.
The teams for the 1995 Champions League final.

No ticket for #swfc at Coventry this weekend, so a double header of my 2 local teams.

Today - reuniting with the legend that is Sammy Hutchinson at @afcwimbledon1889.bsky.social (pitch inspection pending) v Cheltenham

Tomorrow - @officialcpfc.bsky.social v Stockport

I think the silence came from the empty stands rather than the “shock” win over a side in the same division.

And no, like nearly everyone else on Earth, I wasn’t watching.
📺 Were you watching?

Cardiff City silence the cup fever at Bramall Lane with a shock win over Sheffield United to book their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup ✨ #sufc #cardiff

The beauty of #squidgame was its chaotic, bloodthirsty originality. The problem with #squidgame2 is that we’ve seen it all before. It’s not bad, but it’s also not really that good.
