Maybe one last notable break is August 1993, where Toriyama talks about summer vacation plans as well as attending the Multimedia World event. Aaaaand he still only missed a single week...?!

At chapter 323 in April 1991, Toriyama says he packed his schedule (including working on some special color pages) so he could take off Golden Week that year:

Chapters 255 and 256 were actually the first of FOUR eventual Dragon-Ball-double-headers Toriyama pulled over the course of its serialization!

At chapter 155 (and his Sonchoh one-shot!) in December 1987, Toriyama notes in his author comment that he's excited for his upcoming two-week-ish break:

Going to take a little break in the podcast schedule here to recover from Otakon, get all of that panel video/audio prepped for release, etc. etc. etc. Plan is to be back again in two weeks and keep the schedule going from there on track like usual. Thanks! 🙇‍♂️

Back from @otakon.bsky.social! Extra thanks in particular to the AMV Theater staff, who went above & beyond! Staffer went through a pre-panel checklist, confidence monitor on stage, ANOTHER monitor w/ a timer, runner w/ wireless mic for Q&A, someone on mixer the whole time... they do it right! A+++
