Also, at the moment we don’t have Boruto anime to fill the gaps within the manga story. And flesh out characters that died in it like before, so said gaps are even more glaring!

I love Boruto as a story, despite its flaws, but you can easily tell at what points it’s rushed!

I agree! As much as I love Boruto manga, you can tell at some parts things are glossed over for anime to fill the gaps, but as a result very important stuff to the story within the manga suffer and that’s the biggest problem with Boruto manga in general.

Summary of the story "Cast Out" by Clueless_As_Always:

"The Ōtsutsuki are defeated, the battle is won, the world is saved - but the cost was high.

At the age of sixteen, Boruto Uzumaki and Sarada Uchiha emerge as Konoha's victors of the fight that sealed the fate of the earth, but the victory doesn't look like one. The blood on their hands and the lives taken by their weapons let things appear in a very different light, and the two teenagers are forced to leave everything behind in order to protect the village they fought for and the loved ones still alive.

This collection of one-shots accompanies the two friends through the years, through loss and suffering, but also through moments in which two broken individuals can help each other become whole again."

I just realized Sarada is always holding a pillow when she talks about love with Eida. It’s look like she is still shy about her feelings, an maybe it’s reflecting her love language, the physical touch she misses? Plus, she even keeps holding it unconsciously after Daemon attacks her

I'm curious about it, too. However, it's possible Boruto's simply softer with them both in-person because they're not affected by Omnipotence and he does want to protect them. So, they don't see that side of his compared to others?

So I can easily see Eida/Sarada or Eida/Sumire GL love story be really compelling with an amazing plot brewing and it's all because of that one trainwreck of a novel. Please, help me. I'm already swamped with my current WIPs, but other ideas don't leave my head, haha.
