Good to learn more about the Committee's recommendations around inclusive mainstream, accountability, better support in the early years, and parents as partners. Practical, sensible and well researched. Lots DfE can build on in their White Paper proposals. 2/3

It was such a joy to spot you at the finish after our recent emails. In person is always best and at parkrun is always better!

V happy (and somewhat hot) to be back at #parkrun today after a 2 week break to manage an #AxSpA flare. Huge thanks to @drailyntan.bsky.social for sharing research and encouragement. #loveparkrun

I do love a bluebell-strewn parkrun in the spring. We were treated this morning at Bethlem Royal Hospital parkrun. And the carpark welcome to direct first timers to the start was the warmest ever. #loveparkrun

And were you surprised???

Back on the #parkrun tourist trail with a beautiful run along the #Thames in #Kingston. Gorgeous day for it. #loveparkrun

Natasha Dowie a history-making legend in yesterday's match. Her skill & strength a perfect riposte to the guy sitting near me who told his son having a woman in the team "made a mockery" of things. Not sure how many England caps or Super Cups he'd won. #LFC #YNWA

Proud of the progress we made in #Liverpool on our priorities of #EYFS, #attendance and #aspiration. We ensured sustainability was a consideration from the start and hope RISE teams will build on what we achieved.

Eminently sensible interim report from @beckyfrancis.bsky.social and the review team. So refreshing to see a non-ideological approach, seeking to tackle problems, such as the forgotten third, without sweeping away what is good in the current curriculum.

The next stage of the Curriculum and Assessment Review will look to create a more inclusive and fair system, address subject-specific challenges, and assess available pathways beyond GCSEs.

I don't underestimate the challenges ahead for the panel as they move from analysis and intent to recommendations. But the direction and approach signalled by the interim report leave me profoundly hopeful.
katechhatwal.bsky.social
All of this without any compromise on standards and rigour, but with a determination for children, society, and the economy to thrive as well as achieve.

3. Ensuring that the curriculum and related materials are inclusive, "so that all young people can see themselves represented in their learning, as well as seeing others' perspectives and broadening their horizons".
katechhatwal.bsky.social
2. A curriculum that is "cutting edge and fit for purpose", including responding to social and technological change. Good to see AI and the environment highlighted here.
