Seriously, like so many things here, the STL cinema scene really punches above its weight. Especially given how many have closed in the last 10 years.
The movie theater experience should be a simple joy, but it can't be that anymore for far too many. Or it could, but the corporations running the places won't let it be simple. (I feel so very fortunate to have indies I love and wish everyone could share in that.)

It was the complete lack of spatial awareness. All the grown adults laughing about "Thomas Crapper" (demonstrating they had no curiosity to learn this before now)

If anyone remembers the egg bagel Kayak's had before they became a Kaldi's and can tell me what the hell the sauce was on it, I would be forever grateful.
It not that we need more, I'm just surprised they aren't one of them. (And would be nice today when I also need food, more than a pastry.)

I'm sorry that the OP was deleted so it's missing some context but this is a great thread anyway. Had things gone a little differently in my life/career, I might too be a historian of eugenics. Fascinating and terrifying thing to study.
Historian of eugenics here. I don't normally like to retweet bad arguments, but this is such a fundamental misunderstanding of eugenics, I think it's important to point out. I don't have time to debunk all of the ways this is inaccurate, but I'll highlight a few things and then recommend some books🧵

I am absolutely convinced that men must have worse hearing than women. Why else would the apartment downstairs be so quiet except when the boyfriend is around? And not just this boyfriend. Every single neighbor with every one of their boyfriends.
