There was a time I enjoyed House of Tabula (formerly known as Cinemacartographer), but the reactionary lens of the creators only grew more and more. Their latest video calls Sinners "hateful, meanspirited" and "racist" in a direct comparison to the actually racist Birth of a Nation. The topic

Hey everyone! I'm going to be working on a senior thesis film and we're trying to raise money for filming. We'd greatly appreciate any donations or any visibility on this.

The film is timely and deals with a woman seeking an abortion in a time when it was illegal

I initially wanted to see the new Dracula movie because vampires are very dear to me. Then I saw it was Luc Besson and that desire died fast

Been watching more of Rainer Werner Fassbinder's filmography and I think I'm really enjoying it more than I did when I first started a few years ago. Even started rewatching Berlin Alexanderplatz (and rereading the Döblin novel)

idk, as a film student I really love watching films when I have a class that has it as an assignment or in-class. I have made a habit of putting my phone away (though sometimes I do fail, but I succeed way more than I fail) and it's enhanced my enjoyment of film even more. Doing so

On a trend us film professors have seen. Free link to “The Film Students Who Can No Longer Sit Through Films” from THE ATLANTIC yesterday.

I watched An Elephant Sitting Still and it is probably one of the most depressing, pessimistic films I've ever seen but I still loved it. It was mesmerizing, tragic, and also had amazing shots in it.

Definitely worth a watch and it's on Kanopy. Just be sure to have something light prepared after

Wow, fuck this day.

I first discovered and watched Béla Tarr's films last year and it had a profound impact on me as a filmmaker and an artist. Never has a filmmaker left such an indelible mark on me since Bergman, Haneke, Waters, and Akerman. I started with Sátántangó and then moved through

I watched Vision - From the Life of Hildegard von Bingen and I found it to be a really good watch. Wrote a review, though definitely not spoiler-free if you wanna check it out. Barbara Sukowas delivers an excellent performance too.

It's on Kanopy if y'all wanna check it out!

God, pricing stuff for set dressing and props is tedious af. Much respect to people who do this as part of their job

Before today, I wasn't sure if I'd have the chops to direct this film I'm planning to propose for my university's thesis project, but now I believe in myself. I can do this and even if I make mistakes, and I will make mistakes, I will come out even stronger.

Feeling good now ❤️
