George Hardy (1925-2025) — one of the last surviving combat veterans of the Tuskegee Airmen.

He also flew 45 missions in the Korean War and 70 in Vietnam.

“I used to say the Army’s No. 1 job was segregation,” he said. “Winning the war was No. 2.”

So sorry to hear this. Do they know the cause? Is it treatable?

An antenna is a great idea.

There are dozens of OTA channels in most markets — including many of the "nostalgia" sub-channels — and they're all free. Add a DVR and you've basically got what I pay Frndly TV $10.99/month for!

Sax solos on yacht rock songs are a dime a dozen. But flute solos? That’s next level.

Love this video of “ Strange Way” taken last month at a Firefall concert. They still got it. youtu.be/eJStkizYw_A?...

Will Anti-Woke Comedy Recover From the Riyadh Festival?
Any event that includes comedy’s biggest names is going to attract attention — but the Riyadh Comedy Festival, which kicked off on Sept. 26 and continued through Thursday, is disproving the adage that...

Context is truly everything. Recording this in your basement? Yeah. Cute. Recording it as you sing it in their faces?

Gorgeous.

Camille Saint-Saëns (1835-1921) film composer #BOTD
What?
Yes.
THAT Saint-Saëns.
Famous for his "Carnival of the Animals" and other concert works, he was the first major composer to write an original film score, for the 1908 THE ASSASSINATION OF THE DUKE OF GUISE.

[October 8th, 1945] Rudolf Hess, a former Nazi leader, joined his co-conspirators in a German prison after four years. Flown from Britain, he was taken to a gloomy cell with war criminals Goering and Ribbontrop, unaware of his arrival by others.

Happy 75th anniversary to "Canary Row", directed by Friz Freleng.

Granny makes her official on-screen debut and becomes part of Friz Freleng's roster of characters, specifically a notable player in the Sylvester and Tweety shorts.

I'm assuming the American productions were shot on video and live-switched. It looks like some of the British imports may have originated on film, at least for the exteriors (as was the BBC style then).
