Reading this 1974 relic for Karloff's b'day.

It's fun, but the author's take on THE BLACK CAT (1934) is disqualifying: "A feeble Universal opus which some critics are still trying to hoist into immortality."

He also defamed Edgar G. Ulmer as "unswervingly mediocre through 30 years of filmmaking."

SUPERMAN no. 1 sold for $9 million at auction — the most expensive comic ever.

The pristine 1939 edition was found by 3 brothers in the attic of their late mother, who was an avid collector as a kid.

"It's a twist on the old 'Mom threw away my comics' story."

This is yesterday's anniversary news, but still SO appreciative of this comic strip that came along just three years before I started office jobs.
CATHY by Cathy Guisewite debuted in newspapers #OTD in 1976.

It ran until 2010, was collected in more than 20 books, and inspired 3 animated TV specials and tons of licensed products! Ack! #ComicStrip #Comics

Joseph Cotten guested on ALFRED HITCHCOCK PRESENTS #OTD in 1959.

“Dead Weight” was his third appearance—and the third time he played a morally bankrupt sophisticate who meets his comeuppance (à la SHADOW OF A DOUBT).

w/ Julie Adams, Don Gordon and Noir vet Ted de Corsia. A good #Noirvember watch.

A bunch of Film Noir lobby cards + stills are up for auction at great prices.

Lobby cards make great wall art — and they're plentiful and affordable. This is a great site I've bought from many times.
