If you have to do a snow shovel the thing I have learned is GET A SHOVEL YOUR SIZE NOT THE SNOW SIZE. My shovel holds about a tissue box sized load of snow but it’s easier to do many hurls of snow sized for my puny upper body strength than big loads of snow i can’t really lift.

I (we) really do live a charmed life, but this week has been a bit cursed. Bob now has the bad head cold, my friend is in hospital w/back pain so severe she can't walk, and we had a not-entirely-unexpected death in the family. The coming snow will be a good excuse to just hunker down this weekend.
