He was everything everyone said he'd be: Incredibly talented, smart, funny, good storyteller, great audience interaction. But why did no one tell me about the sad squid song??? 😭😭

Jonathan at one point and for one song pulled out and put on like a crossbody tote bag some sort of instrument that could play percussion, pre-recorded tracks, and other sounds depending on where he touched / pressed it. It was WILD!

Last, but absolutely in no way least, @orangegmusic.bsky.social! Second time seeing the band and Mark's music is just beautiful. Not only can he write, sing, and play the guitar, he also plays banjo and a MEAN harmonica. Go by their stuff on Bandcamp, too!

Next, a new-to-me band called Carcasso, the Fox. I didn't get a chance to talk to them and can't find a way to tag the band, so for now, just take my word for it - they also kicked ass!

Then the guy that was, I can safely say, the surprise of the afternoon for everyone - James from Nashville (Insta @JamesHatenmusic) w/ a mix of folk and rockin' gospel/blues (partic. when guest harmonica Mark came in, again)! Happy he had a CD there I could grab.

Okay here we go. The Melrose 923 is a small stage built by Chris in his Ambridge backyard. It's obvs a small venue, but very chill and friendly - had a great time meeting him, his roommate, the others.

I knew from @srj68.bsky.social that he was known for the JoJo Cruise, but then he did the episode opening songs for one of our favorite shows, Braindead, and THAT really made us sit up and take notice!

Shoot the Moon is a little known, but heart-wrenchingly wonderful, movie starring Diane and Albert Finney. Saw it decades ago, never forgot it. RIP to one who gave everything to the camera.

I was SO taken aback bc they absolutely did NOT market it as horror. Wouldn't have paid to see it if I'd known about that one scene at the end.
