Early-retirement couch potato in his mid-50s. I've seen the future. I can't afford it.

Please do not follow me if your entire persona on here is "I post and repost mostly political stuff," or because you saw that I liked a political comment somewhere, with the hope that I will follow you back. I will not.

I prefer to use this space to escape politics, for the most part.

Jeff has another 2-show day on tap. For the matinee, it's LITTLE BEAR RIDGE ROAD with Laurie Metcalf and Micah Stock at the Booth Theatre. Written by Samuel D. Hunter, directed by Joe Mantello. The ticket was $55 through his Theatre Development Fund membership.

I'm not sure! Normally, I tag any 'show' stuff with 'BroadwaySky' or 'OffBroadwaySky', and have occasionally used 'VeryOffBroadwaySky'. I haven't personally seen #TheatreSky before.

Last night, Pantochino opened its 16th season with another new offering, What Now, Voyager- a comedic parody of 1940s melodrama. With 7 actors who play 16 characters, this is the 34th score I've written for the stage! I am so proud of the work my cast, crew and supporters have done ❤️ #theatre

Nice one! You've got me curious to know if he was part of the 'Frogmen' stories that appeared in SHOWCASE #3, 2 years earlier.

We didn't even know about the show until Saturday morning, and when I heard, I sent him the link, and he was able to get a ticket. Annie was scheduled to speak for about 90 minutes, and the event ran for over 2 hours. Because the ticket was purchased late, they are mailing Jeff's copy of the book.

Jeff's 2nd show last night wasn't a 'show', so no real opportunity for a pic.

Annie Lennox is doing a series of appearances to talk about her recently-released memoir 'Retrospective'. Saturday, she was in conversation with V (formerly Eve Ensler) in Carteret, NJ.

42.8%. That's is the average voter turnout for Midterms (2002-'22). Show up and vote. If you think your district is gerrymandered against you, it's because they're counting on your discouragement; show up and vote anyway. Vote at every level. Make them afraid of the people again.

Fewer than 1 in 10 of our Congressional races are considered competitive - in a country that's politically more or less 50-50.

This is madness. And it doesn't have to be this way.

Jeff's doing a two-show Saturday, though neither is in NYC.

First up, is a local production of 'Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show', live at the Algonquin Arts Theatre in Manasquan, NJ. $43 with the senior discount.

No, he's not dressed up as one of the characters. ;-)

I remember being intrigued at the change in artist at the time, because I absolutely loved (still do!) Alan Davis' style, but still being curious enough about Todd's style.

My mind locks onto the oddest things. Things that I should pay attention to, and get correct in my own life, I miss obvious things. ;-)

Wow! That's great! I don't think I ever tracked that it was Byrne's first work at Marvel.

And I don't pay attention to it every time, but is it odd that a double cover book comes back with a grade that is higher than either of the cover grades? I usually see overall grade=grade of outer cover.

Wow! Congratulations on that! I'm a "I'll never be able to afford one" person, but understand what you're saying about waiting for a stock market dip. I've had in on my Watchlist, and have tracked it a few times.

Truth. Even after looking it up, to see that there have been multiple versions of the character (Of course! It's comics!), and that the packaging calls him 'Carter' (the name of the original) and not 'Lincoln' (the later one who assaulted Mockingbird), who's going to know that without research?

Top Shelf Friday time!

What's a comic in your collection that you think deserves to be on that top shelf? Whether its a key, rare, or just one you love❤️

Today, it's DETECTIVE COMICS #575-578, with 'Batman : Year Two' by Mike W. Barr, Alan Davis, and Todd McFarlane.

Oh, we doin' a multiple book post today? Okay. I've got one of those prepped. ;-)

If I were going to get any, it would be Phantom Rider and Werewolf By Night.

I should look to see if they have ever done Black Goliath.

Oh, they did, about 4 years ago...
