In 2 Kings 5, Naaman is only healed because he listens to the advice of his servants. God consistently works through unexpected, ordinary people and though then does extra ordinary things. In 2 kings 5 the king of Israel tears his clothes after receiving a letter from the king of Aram asking for Naaman to be healed. The Israelite king misinterpreted the request and thought Aram was making an impossible demand as a pretext for war. #bible #church #sermon #christian

An update in the new edition of the NRSV of the Bible is the switch from translating a word as leprosy to translating it as skin disease since the Bible uses the word traditionally translated as leprosy as a catch all term for a bunch of skin conditions that aren’t leprosy/hanson’s disease #bible
