It's nearly a year ago that I set up a blog to share my family stories. I previously published them on my business website but I'm now retired and wanted another platform for when my website goes. Here is the welcome post I wrote a while back 🙃 #familyhistory

Welcome to Your Family Stories
It seems, the older we get, the more many of us yearn to understand and connect with our past. Where did we come from? Why do we live in a particular part of the world? Why are we the way we are? W…

Are there any #oldcar experts out there? I asked AI what this car is and it says British Ford 10 circa 1937/38. Looking online at those models, the grill looks a little different. The girls in the pic were born in 1935 and 1938 so I’m thinking it was taken about 1939/50. #familyhistory #fordcar

On this day (5th Dec) in 1866, my 2 x great grandparents George Rutter (1840-1905) and Jane Hampson (1845-1902) married in St Clement Church, Toxteth #liverpool although both were born in #cheshire. George was a police constable & Jane’s father was a mariner. #familyhistory

This is likely the oldest original family photo we have. It is my 3 x GGM Frances Hanlon (1838-1892 #Liverpool) who married Robert Hornby. Her father Michael Hanlon was a spectacle maker/optician born in #Ireland 🇮🇪 c1804. She was one of 9 children. #ancestry #familyhistory #oldphotos

@atlanticgen.bsky.social Hi Peggy - it’s interesting to see #novascotia in your bio. My husband has a line from Pictou, Nova Scotia - his 3 x GGM and 4 x GGparents who moved to Australia in the 1850s - it was the Ballarat, Victoria gold rush that brought them here we believe.

Hello from Perth, Western Australia, the world’s most isolated capital city. Having heard so many genealogy podcasts mentioning Bluesky, I decided I should come and play here too. I look forward to connecting, learning and sharing here 😉
