Booker, after speaking for more than 24 hours and breaking Thurmond's record, is still standing and still speaking--using his time to warn his colleagues and his country about the dangers of defunding universities and defunding scientific research.

On a kick of listening to albums undistracted when I’m on airplanes vs trying to work (still trying to work in airports). Recommendations please! Old or new, but something I should listen to the whole way through not just a single song

What's been rather lost in the anger at health ins denials/delays is how to hold them accountable. For many of us, I write here that the answer is ERISA reform bc as it stands, if we're wrongly denied, ERISA prevents damages recovery if we get worse. Denials are costless!

Reform didn’t come in time for Frank Wurzbacher, but it might help to prevent future tragedies.

This week I've drafted a blog post and two op-eds on health policy issues. I grumbled so much during my MPP classes about having to learn and practice these skills. Turns out my professors knew a lot more than I did about the value of these formats for policy communication
