I do stand up comedy. I own a comedy club. I blog about 80s music. I teach law and philosophy. And I have a day job you probably know me from, but this account ain’t for that.

Oh, well… I wasn’t going anyway.
Jeez. All tourists - including those from Britain - will have to undergo a social media screening before being allowed entry into the US under new plans being considered by the country's border force

US plans to start checking all tourists' social media
The potential social media mandate being proposed by Customs and Border Protection (CBP) would apply to anyone visiting, whether they require a visa or not.

So, if 20 years ago someone said “Here’s an idea. Let’s find 10 of the most socially awkward tech nerds we got, make them so rich they live outside everyone’s daily reality, and then they’ll design most of our social interactions around their profitability”, you’d have shut that down, right? RIGHT?!
Jimmy Fallon: "And do you use ChatGPT when raising your baby?"

Sam Altman: "I cannot imagine figuring out how to raise a newborn without ChatGPT."

“….or, then, what if we had all 300 million Americans in a group plan, and every citizen could vote for the people who ran the plan and those people didn’t have to extract a profit, and this elected entity negotiated for EVERY SINGLE….oh, shit…wait a minute….”
Rand Paul on his healthcare plan: "What if you could join Costco? Costco has 44m members and if one person negotiated for all 44 and they bought a group plan like Toyota or General Motors does, they would be the largest collective entity in the country. They would drive prices down by sheer might."

This is absolutely correct. Some are using the legitimacy of the prerogative to defend the overuse and abuse. And for those who say “Ah, but the notwithstanding clause is in the Constitution”, I’d answer that so is the federal power of disallowance, but no one wants that to be suddenly normalized.
Very interesting parallels between how Trump is using the pardon power and how certain provincial premiers are using the notwithstanding clause (yes yes, the latter is technically a legislative, rather than executive, power). Both valid constitutional instruments, both being radically abused.

Really excited for this Friday’s show at the Comic Sutra. This is going to be an amazing double bill.

I’m looking forward to this show Friday at the Comic Sutra. These are three comics I love for their great writing and unique delivery. This was one of the shows I was most excited to book.

….including President Trump, which is kind of the scary part about this.
This is real: President Trump is standing on the roof of the White House briefing room right now and no one knows why

I hope this gets smashed so frigging hard that even AI bots immediately warn anyone else thinking of this idea to abandon it immediately.
Introducing the first AI prototype of a British MP🇬🇧🤖

When constituent and local business owner, Jeremy Smith, approached me with this idea, I was very excited to work with him. The AI revolution is happening and we must embrace it to see how it can be useful, in all sectors.

Speaking as a Packers fan and shareholder, man, I hope this guy stays as normal and decent as he appears. The last two were fun on the field but became such benighted douchecanoes.
god i love having a normal qb so much

This guy is really good at this. Policy can be debated. The skill here is not.
Good morning! I'm in Uganda to visit family and friends.

But depending on your perspective, don't worry or I'm sorry: I'll be back by the end of the month.

See you soon, NYC.

It’s usually equally stupid, but the stagecraft of this particular stupidity is genuinely creative.
Honest question for the historians of empires: is the end always this stupid or are we breaking new ground here?

The cruelty is the point.
NOT A CRIMINAL

A veteran’s wife was arrested by ICE when she went for an immigration check-in. She was separated from her young children, even though she’s still nursing.

I wonder who he voted for?

That said, it’s odd he said “almost inhumane”. Being snatched from your newborn baby IS inhumane.

Since we’re overthinking Daniel Tiger for fun (a subject I have been studying as a toddler’s dad), I’m looking at the poster’s theory that an inordinate amount of work by the neighborhood’s resident’s appears to be uncompensated work for the benefit of the royal family’s enterprises.
I will not do vulgur Marxist analysis of Daniel Tiger. I will not do vulgar Marxist analysis of Daniel Tiger. I will not do vulgar Marxist analysis of Daniel Tiger.

The only logical flaw here is presenting “cool” and “nostalgic” as a mutually exclusive binary, but it’s factually solid.

Me, I am one cool, nostalgic bastard.
A lot of GenXers who think they are cool aging hipsters are actually just deeply nostalgic for their youth.

(We used to make fun of the boomers for doing the same thing).
