Sometimes all you can do is make the world 0.0000000000001% less awful by being a good person and it feels very meaningless but it’s also the only thing that really matters

Yes but Frankenstein is the exact equivalent of the men who protect their families by collecting an arsenal instead of say, feeding, bathing, and emotionally nurturing for their children.
I'd like to see one Frankenstein ever that just grapples with the fact that somebody obsessed with beating death should be working on sickness and the aging process, not trying to re-animate dead tissue, like what did you *think* success would look like, Vic.
FRANKENSTEIN is, in my opinion, not half-bad. boxd.it/csMZm7

okay open call, if you have an SFF romance coming out in 2026, and it's not grindingly heteropatriarchal in outlook and values, please tell me about it! I'm compiling my reading lists!

Argh!

I came up with a title and googled it to see how original it might or might not be. Google’s AI claims it’s an ee cummings quote, but that seems to be an AI lie because there’s no discoverable evidence or source. So irritating.

Years of hard work and putting effort into the community, showing up for other writers, showing you care about the whole ecosystem, not just your damn self
They have come to the convention hoping to "break in" and then find themselves -- shocker! -- a "nobody in the book world." Yeah no shit! We all are! I have gently told guys like this a million times that it takes most of us *years* of hard work but they do not believe that could be true for them. +
