One of the loveliest parts of my day is waking up, logging on, and checking on the garment sewing feed to see what everyone has been making. It is super inspiring and fun. So I'm boosting the garment sewing feed again (uses #garmentsewing). I don't think you have to sew to appreciate it!
Ohhhhh I forgot to share this other special pīwakawaka content the other day. This little dude, I think a fledgling, was just extremely chill about us standing in his bathroom while he showered😂🥹 #nzbirds
I sometimes wonder if I attract the birds 😂😂 today I had two dear little tūī fledglings too.

Check out this asmr content from yesterday too. I am obsessed with this duck who's shown up to partake of the birdbath fountain too. The vibes are so good 😂😂😂 the tauhou are just like oh hi, naumai #nzbirds
... How did she get in there 🧐

Got up close and personal with the pūtangitangi too and would you check out these moults happening! From above, the girls are now leaning quite red compared to their brother. They are just so beautiful I cannot even deal. Look at those dorky big feet. #nzbirds

Found a big whānau of pīwakawaka in the cherry walk at the path this arvo and two are black! There's been a well known black morph there for a while; now I think he's got progeny all over the park. He's in this with one of his kiddos but you'll have to watch carefully to see both at once #nzbirds

In case you wondered what the pūtangitangi crew are up to, the answer is bullying mallards (but also being very beautiful and graceful) #nzbirds

I managed to get this #greenstylereef hoodie out of the remnants of a previous jumper make - perfectly!! That felt nice.
Now I have to decide, as I've cut out two hoods, one in each colour which will be the lining. I'm leaning towards the grey. #garmentsewing
Also, this sews up so quick.

I made this #inthefoldsgibson nightgown and I love it very much. It's a bit muumuu and I'm not mad. I even think it's quite appealing with the pyjama pants I made in the same fabric 😂😂😂 #garmentsewing
The sleeves are meant to be elasticated. I forgot to leave the slot open for it, might add later.

I'm just sorting through my photos from the park and these ones, taken at 8.30am on New Year's Day... 😌🦆🌱🇳🇿 #nzbirds

I made some #helensclosetwinslowculottes using this luscious tencel twill. I did end up using a reasonably modified waistband that tapers to a yoked back, but I think it's pretty rad.
I made these for summer wear but it's not feeling very summery here.. luckily they're great with tights too!

#sewing / #garmentsewing oh also that over shirt is #fibremoodmelody in a fun vintage needlecord.

I am making the #helensclosetwinslowculottes in this utterly lush tencel twill. I can't stop touching it. So velvety.
I had meant to extend the back rise by 1 inch but while cutting I forgot! Not to worry as I hadn't cut the waistband out yet... I added the inch there as a yoke. #garmentsewing

We took some peas down to the park this evening to feed our pūtangitangi (and the mallards). It took them a little while to get it, but they decided that peas are delicious!

Bonus picture of Kyle the shag in wing spreading / drying posture.

@kelsy.co.nz made me this amazing shirt with fishes all over it! I helped with the buttons 😂.

Definitely one of my top faves! I am very lucky ♥️.

Here are some photos too. Someone's left this wee Ted to have an adventure on his own. 🌱🇳🇿
It's the most stunning day.

Here are our dear pūtangitangi whānau, grazing away this morning. They do some good singing at the start of this one.
We have never fed these guys, (never had to; they've worked out exactly how to best monopolise the feeding zone) but I'm getting a bit tempted to give em some frozen peas 😂 #nzbirds

Okay so on the left is the young male fledgling pūtangitangi, and on right and at centre are 2/4 of his sisters who you can see have white facial plumage starting to show up. #nzbirds
They're looking quite caramelly in the sun too these days. Dad has quite blue head plumage.

Here are our pūtangitangi this morning. No the pond hasn't dried up; they've colonised the area where there's waterworks for kids to build dams 😂
Some good duck drinking in this. And some salty sibling behaviour. Next I've got a good boy feathers-girl feathers comparison video.

Side note NZ sewists the fabric is still on sale for $5/m. And they overcut - I've yet to break into the original 4.5m I ordered to make Eddie and I a shirt & dress 😂

Made myself some pyjamas - these are done using #thefabricstoresewssparrow set pattern. The fabric is 100% rayon something. Silky feeling but textured. Very cool. Doesn't go wrinkly on drying. Any thoughts on possible fabric structure I'd be interested to hear as I have 5m more of it yet 😂😂😂😂

Here's this morning's duck adventure featuring meeping AND swooping. Bless their hearts. When the third took off and went flap-flap-fly she was absolutely shocked 😂 I wish I'd caught her wobbly flying but I think you can hear her surprised meep as she goes past #nzbirds

Here's the pūtangitangi whānau yesterday, getting around much more separately with half the team on pond and half in the rose garden. #nzbirds
They're appreciators of ornamentals 😂
