Margin Call is a fantastic film, but it needed an immediate sequel, with the same leads, where it shows how the same company lobbied D.C. to not prosecute them, and they bankrolled the Tea Party movement to lock it in. Otherwise the moral depravity of Irons’s character is weightless.

I'm a little surprised there are still those reticent to say Christian nationalism. Unlike Neoconservatism, which Kristol embraced as an exonym ("Self-Confessed Neoconservative"), Wolfe et al. have begun articulating and even gatekeeping what is and isn't Christian Nationalism.
Whenever someone tells me we should stop using the term "Christian nationalism" because it's too vague (it's not) and some folks use it as a slur (which I agree is wrong), I ask them what they think of the term "woke."
Invariably I find they don't really have a problem with vague slur terms.

There's a post over on Twitter that I've been laughing to myself about. Some right-wing guy is celebrating that a school took down "All-Gender" bathroom signs and replaced them with "Single Occupancy Restroom" signs. And like... it's the same thing, man. You're celebrating a pointless relabeling.

I've loved The Prince of Egypt since its theatrical run over 27 yrs ago, but it's only lately come to be appreciated in retrospectives as something greater than its animated peers in the '90s. It's not only one of the best musicals ever made, it's the best Bible movie.

It's not even that I dislike a luminary of his profession like Tarantino having mean reviews of actors, that's just jealousy on our part because we're not luminaries and we do that all the time. It's that he's a repulsive person who can't critique with tact, and he seems to come for innocents.

You can’t feel it yet, none of us really know how to get there, but one day this Trump shit will be in the rear view mirror. American ethnic identity will be more solidly fluid. Trans people and their haters will have detente. Oligarchy will be on notice. Young men will have more prosocial meaning.
