If you’re on Bluesky to sell ANYTHING, I don’t care what, I WILL block you instantly. The only exception right now is for local type quilting or knitting/crochet shops. NO GOP idiots. Blocked.
Hobby Lobby can fuck right off. I refuse to shop there since they refuse to cover women’s birth control.

I have been a quilter and costumer and general seamstress for a very long time.. and while I can appreciate what they're doing, every time I see the word "blanket" where it should say "quilt" is making me twitch. A lot. 😕 #quiltsky
This past week we've been busy installing all of the beautiful blankets for our Welcome Blanket show! The opening celebration is Thu Nov 6th! To learn more about these blankets visit @welcomeblanket.bsky.social #art #quilt #fabricarts

I remember one called Badbonnet Sue that was done via a quilt block swap on ye old Internet. It was hysterical. The original site is gone, but the Internet Archive has most of it. Here is the earliest version. Some images are missing.. but you can imagine them ;) web.archive.org/web/20110103...

In case you're wondering about why Inktober is controversial this year, it's because an asshat decided to copyright it and then plagiarize a fellow artist.

So don't use Inktober.

Hey Texas #quiltsky peeps, this is relevant to your interests. Looks amazing from what I can see here.
If you’re in Central Texas, consider a visit to the Texas Quilt Museum in La Grange. The current exhibits will blow your mind. They’re not just quilts. They’re works of art.

I leave the house for two hours and there he is, completely baked, upside down on the sofa, listening to psychedelic rock.

Accurate AF. 😆
I can agree with this math. Since I’m unpacking and reorganizing the fabric room I can tell this was my thought process when buying fabrics.

Have a sewtastic day!!

Had a conversation today that made me realize I need to share this again. Are you tired of speaking to quilters who don't really understand or care about what's going on? Who tell you they hated Kamala? Come over from the dark side & join me in my Liberal AF group!

Sophonisba Angusciola Sellers (1786-1859) was an early US ornithologist and artist. 🪶
She was also a noted quilt-maker.
A surviving example of her work is preserved in the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
Her portrait here is by her father, Charles Willson Peale, 1805.

Butterscotch here (aka Bubba) has put himself between me & my laptop. He wants me to pet him, not use the computer. :) Looking at this photo is making me realize that he’s getting old
:( He’s at least 13 now. Not sure exactly how old he is, because he was a young adult cat when he adopted us.

The Ann Burns Quilt, d. 1844, Arch St. Meetinghouse, PA. After 50 years of being encased, was out for a day. It will be stored and displayed again in a more textile-preservation-appropriate case, soon.
