Paul Skenes’ evening is done after six scoreless frames. He will finish with a 1.97 ERA, the lowest for a Pirate starter in the Live Ball Era. You have to go back to Wilbur Cooper in 1916 to find someone with a lower ERA than that.

The Pirates selected the contract of LHP Hunter Barco. LHP Evan Sisk has been optioned to the minors to make room on the active roster. OF Ronny Simon has been transferred from the 10- to the 60-day injured list to make room for Barco on the 40-man roster, which remains full.
