I'm a cynical old drunk who lives in the woods. Half the country is depressed and the other half is infuriatingly gullible, so I walk rescue dogs to keep sane. I've never felt so alienated. Nothing makes sense including me, maybe just keep scrolling.
This is absolutely gorgeous!
A recent oil on canvas painted in my garden size 61cmX86cm "Two women at a garden table". It was one of my entries to the Cambridge Drawing Society 2024. Needs to be a bit more subtle in its tone I think looking back on it.

What determines my value? Do I? Is it acceptance by others? Why should I keep trying? For the joy painting gives me! Yet, if so, why am I so easily crushed by the opinions of others? This piece got accepted, anyway. I tell myself, not bad for a self taught artist. But the heart wants what it wants.

Holy shit this is beautiful.
Good me: It doesn't matter if no one sees me, I feel happy making art just for myself. Bad me: No likes, no one validates me, I suck, why bother? As an introvert, I then overthink it all. So thank you for your encouraging words. It really does help!
