Damn, what happened to Project2612?

I am obviously fine with Folha labelling Hamas as “terrorist”. But inserting the term into an article that didn't originally use it – even in parts where the FT didn’t use any adjectives – is pretty bad.

Readers might come away thinking the FT normally refers to Hamas that way.

Brazilian newspaper Folha de S.Paulo added the word "terrorist" multiple times to a Hamas article it translated from the Financial Times (which avoids using the term).

- “militant group” → “terrorist group”
- “Hamas” → “terrorist group Hamas”
- “attack” → “terrorist attacks”

Lula’s chief foreign policy adviser, Celso Amorim, said he agrees with the White House communications director that the Nobel committee placed “politics over peace”

Brazilian president Lula once said that María Corina Machado, who has just won the Nobel Peace Prize, should not cry after Nicolás Maduro’s regime barred her from running for Venezuela’s presidency in 2024.

Machado’s response:

It’s sad that the Mac doesn’t include an app like Microsoft Paint (especially given the MacPaint history), and Windows doesn’t include an app like iMovie.

I'm tired.

(Deleted the app already.)

Dunno if this is going to work, but YouTube could try something similar.

“Avoid generic livestreaming videos. Focus on recommending reputable sources.”
kimura.bsky.social
And if you try to tweak the thing by watching a bunch of high-quality stuff, it just ends up recommending terrible variations of the stuff.

Like “relaxing vibes” classical music livestreams with AI-generated thumbnails.

Really impressed by how much crap YouTube can recommend to a kid.

And YouTube Kids is even worse. Lots of useless entertainment crap.

I’ll have to delete the apps.

2. The article says, “You’ll still have access to the subscriber’s email address and payment history, but not their payment method.” This means the authors know their subscribers, no? Or am I missing something…

This is crazy, I can imagine Brazilian cops laughing at the idea of doing something like this.
