The “Gaza genocide” entry is genuinely bad.

By the way, the New York Post and Gizmodo failed to do some really basic fact-checking here. (Gizmodo corrected the headline later, but the piece still has an activist tone.)

I imagine many reasonable people agree with Jimmy Wales here, but they didn’t speak up because, lately, the loudest critics of Wikipedia sound quite conspiratorial and unreasonable. A bit similar to what happened during the pandemic.

Great option in the US and other places where Apple can sell these at reasonable prices.

In Brazil, it’ll likely be much pricier than Windows PCs and Chromebooks… A bit like fast-fashion brands that are inexpensive in developed countries but not here.

I mean, he explicitly calls Colossus “NOT a journalistic outlet.”

I don’t know… maybe I’m too dumb to get what’s supposedly so dumb in his post. But for now, what really seems dumb are the aggressive messages directed at him.

Besides, they’re unnecessarily mean. I don’t see anything offensive in his post. His points seem reasonable, even if I don’t necessarily agree with all of them.

I think he and his critics would probably agree on most things in a face-to-face debate.

It’s striking that nearly every post criticizing Hiten’s post here either:

1. Fails to point out what exactly is wrong with it, and/or

2. Interprets it incorrectly (strawman!).

Brazilian newspaper Folha de S.Paulo added the word "terrorist" multiple times to a Hamas article it translated from the Financial Times (which avoids using the term).

- “militant group” → “terrorist group”
- “Hamas” → “terrorist group Hamas”
- “attack” → “terrorist attacks”

Brazilian president Lula once said that María Corina Machado, who has just won the Nobel Peace Prize, should not cry after Nicolás Maduro’s regime barred her from running for Venezuela’s presidency in 2024.

Machado’s response:

It’s sad that the Mac doesn’t include an app like Microsoft Paint (especially given the MacPaint history), and Windows doesn’t include an app like iMovie.

Dunno if this is going to work, but YouTube could try something similar.

Or maybe I can do this…

CrashPlan removed “Number of Devices per User” from its pricing page.

Offering multiple devices per user at a low price was a major reason – perhaps the only one – to still consider CrashPlan after everything they’ve done to their customers in recent years.
