I was so delighted to make it to the final hour of GLOBUS HYSTERICUS, an exhibition by performance duo Kainulainen & Latva at Forum Box in Helsinki, that I had to jot a few words down about it, which you can read here.

I was just thinking about the last artwork that got me really excited and inspired here in Finland.
A powerfully articulate and moving work, attributed to Elokapina, Finland and Restore Wetlands, Sweden, 2024.

Well considered for it's impact, and - for it's ease of removal.

Dinner with Alphoniso Lingus, recently departed, almost exactly ten years ago following our key notes at the Medical Humanities Conference in Dartington.
We adored him. Gosh he was gorgeous, so open, enquiring and curious.

From the earliest hour, the crows have the air, their ligneous timbre scratching the skies.

Dungchen and rolmo announce themselves with orchestrated awe, insistent and epic, like cavalries of sound amidst heroic strikes of thunderous booms. I love the small of coffee in the morning.

Essential reading
"the president defied a Supreme Court ruling to return a man mistakenly sent to a gulag... and spoke of sending Americans to foreign concentration camps.
This is the beginning of an American policy of state terror, and it has to be identified as such to be stopped"

Small works in progress emerging during a month residency at Gallery Mcube, Lalitpur, Patan, Nepal.

Originally conceived as visualisions of actions for camera, the clunky collages are taking on their own life.

The video in this link features an exchange between Leonora Carrington and her niece Joanna Moorhead during which Carrington defies Moorheads attempts to intellectualise her work.
'The visual world is to do with what we see as space which changes all the time.'
My ‘wild child’ cousin, the surrealist painter Leonora Carrington
Throughout her childhood, Joanna Moorhead never heard a good word from her family about her cousin. When she went to Mexico she found out why she had abandoned them 60 years ealier
