In the Tampa area for a work trip and found a sushi spot in the shopping center next to my hotel. I'm shocked - it's some of the best sushi I've had in a while. If you're ever in the area, check out ZukkuSan in Lutz.

About out of vanilla syrup for my coffee and money's tight but I DO have vanilla bean paste so I made my own.
2 cups sugar
1 cup water
Bring to a simmer over medium-high heat until sugar is all dissolved. Remove from heat and add:
2 tsp vanilla bean paste
Stir to incorporate. Enjoy.

Took a little trip to Zumbrota in the hopes of testing out the A7c and catching some eagles along the river. That didn't pan out, but the last historic covered bridge in Minnesota was happy to model for me.

Stopped at Maid-Rite on our way through Iowa to try local specialties. The loose meat sandwich is fine - tasty enough but not something I'd seek out. The pork tenderloin tho -The pork was perfectly fried and it was delicious, but advertising it as "on a bun", while technically correct, is absurdity.
