I work in the RM of Pipestone and am excited for my journey to learning more about municipalities #MGMT0180

Wow that’s wild! Curious to see how this impacts public trust in small-town governance #MGMT0180
Hey #MGMT0180 I found a really helpful article that breaks down the roles and responsibilities of the people for the municipality such as council and the CAO positions.

I agree that’s a very important trait! I think that goes hand in hand with what I said in my padlet post about how having a strong backbone is pretty important for a successful CAO #MGMT0180
What are your guys’ thoughts on legally mandating elections?? #MGMT0180
As I was reminded, Alberta actually LEGALLY MANDATES municipal elections.

Literally every municipality will be voting on the 20th.

It is in provincial law.

This complaint should have been levied months ago, province-wide.
Look, this sucks.
But why is it only being talked about now?

We've known the timing of the municipal election for months.

Did you register to vote? Then you knew in July.

It’s powerful to see how far a municipality can go when it comes to protecting LGBTQ+ rights. But this is also a reminder of how important it is to stay vigilant. Rights that were fought for can’t be taken for granted. They must continue to be defended. #MGMT0180
Today marks the 10-year anniversary of the Municipality of Anchorage protecting civil rights on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity.

The fight to enshrine those rights stretches back to the municipality’s earliest days.

“Those rights were given by the stroke of a pen, and a stroke of a pen can take them away,” said Anchorage Ombudsman Darrel Hess.

Love this!! The chart is a good visual representation that shows how much municipal government affects daily life—transit, garbage, policing, parks, and more. Low turnout makes a big difference. Voting locally is just as important as voting federally or provincially. Thanks for sharing!!
Hey everyone!

Local elections matter more than people think. They decide on roads, housing, schools, and safety, yet turnout is often low. Don’t let the same “Jaws mayor” stay in office by default. It’s important to show up, vote, and make your voice count where it matters most! #MGMT0180
I can't stress enough the importance of local/state elections that can impact you instantly.. ballot initiatives, Senate/House Reps, judges, MAYORS, sheriffs, schoolboards, county executives/councils, etc. Do your research, know who/what you're voting for. #LRP
