2025 challenge for everyone (myself included):

- Have you read the entire thread before replying?
- Have you looked to see if other people have already replied with what you want to say?
- Are you thinking of "well, actually"-ing?
- Do you you and the person know each other well enough to say that?

Will be applying a new policy from here on out.

If you come into my mentions to tell me that [thing] isn't worth my attention or bringing it to the attention of others, I'm going to assume you're a bad actor and block you.

ESPECIALLY if you're an 8 follower account with primarily replies.

If you ever joined us on Friday mornings for coffees or rode with him, msg me and you can have a sticker too for your bike.

I recently rode back home from University, and flying past gridlocked cars on 114st made my heart feel lifted again. Driving to and from work so regularly was crushing my soul, and I had to force myself to repeat mantras to find the motivation to get through the day.
Photo of a red bike. It is an up close photo from behind, seeing through the bars of the bike frame. There are 3 stickers on the bike frame, in particular one small one of a person sitting on a bench. Digital drawing of a man sitting on a bench, his bike resting against the back side of the bench. The scene is of the back of the bench, and the man has his back to us. He is holding a hot beverage.

I am going to fall asleep before this next episode loads.

My computer is thinking too hard.

It cannot be made clearer.

If you continue to support the Harry Potter franchise in any way, you are directly funding the removal of trans people's human rights in the UK.

Real chicken or the egg here with people who use AI for everything

You know how there’s been this big push towards encouraging older people to do puzzles, cognitive games, and to learn new things to keep them from succumbing to dementia?

Wonder where that’s gonna go with the rise of “outsource your cognitive functions to AI, it’ll be convenient” culture
steveisdamages.bsky.social
Cognition is like strength. Use is required to not just gain, but maintain. The more thinking and cognitive work we offload, the duller we become as a result.

It's like deciding you'll use a mobility scooter without need and then figuring out a year later that you can no longer walk.

I'm doing another print run of these "Biology is Bigger than Binaries" shirts!

Back, quite literally, by popular demand. Bullying works, sure, but so does a bunch of nice cutie patooties politely asking!

Order 'em now, I'll mail 'em in early November.

A thing I often forget about is just how much muscle is involved in kitchen work.

You could easily have some amazing triceps just by mincing herbs and spices all day.

For those who need it.
A fake Magic: the Gathering cake titled "Chicken of Executive Function". Ability text reads "Dispel Malaise. You are granted executive function for one turn." Flavour text reads "You have been visited by the chicken of executive function. Stop scrolling and go and do one thing you've been putting off."

It’s a material reality that right now the AI tech bubble is holding up the empire. It increasingly powers all commerce, and is central to the most invasive surveillance apparatus the world has ever seen. Predictive analytics trained on our data have allowed billionaires to track us like wildlife.

One curious thing on this site about speaking out against the encroachment of LLMs is that inevitably you get accused of being anti-tech. I don’t hate technology. I’ve used machine learning in my own code before. But I also recognize that oligarchs are so hellbent on pushing this tech for a reason.
