Monday Thrifty Bits: thrifted pants! Sweater is another one of my Blizzard Bay sweaters, and it’s a very popular design (I think I know of 3 other people that have it?). My only complaint: the T. rex’s sweater does not have a human in a sweater on it…

TERRI POWER ART, DAY 7!!!!!

Each pair of earrings comes in a fancy velour bag to hide what they are from PEOPLE WHO PEEK (aka me!)

We are starting off strong with ramen bowls! Look at the *detail*!!!! She makes every soup component by hand (except the bowl itself).

IT IS 7 DAY BEFORE DECEMBER 1ST.

IT IS THE COUNTDOWN TO COUNTDOWN SEASON.

IT IS TIME.

…for the pink box.

This is a local small-business I am *obsessed with* called Terri Power Art (www.terripowerart.com). She made earring advent calendars this year for an INSANE price! Mine is special.

I feel personally attacked.

Marielle and I went into Splurge Boutique on the way home and found out one of the staff that worked there hid this purse specifically for me when it came in 3 weeks ago. The strap is still a little sad from storage crumple, but I’m now the owner of a gingerbread house purse.

It’s a beautiful day for the Agricola Street Festival (but chilly…). Let’s go get Marielle again and go on an adventure!

Five! More! Fish! Strips!

Done 15 of 20. I have now outgrown my rug space. Lol.

WANNA SEE MY HALIFAX CRAFTERS HAUL?????

You know you wanna.

First: my ears. I got some pickles-n-bows and some melted snowmen from Terri Power
Second: the rhinestone spider is made from vintage/thrifted jewelery, and it’s on a thrifted doily! Made by Isabelle Pineau of An Oddity Or Two

SHALL WE GO SPEND SOME MONEY TOGETHER?!?!
Wearing some Terri Power earrings, and I’m off to “Marielle’s corner” to pick her up on the way to the Halifax Crafters. Let’s go!

Step 1: assemble tree and plop on star topper.

My itty bitty skinny tree now looks a bit silly in my big apartment, but do you know how annoying it is buying a tree when you don’t have a car?! It makes it a big-assed *process*. So for now, the tinsel thrifted tree stays.

Went to the bank for Halifax Crafters money for tomorrow, and stopped at Dollarama on the way home (you know, as one does).

Look at the fun wreath they had! Fits perfectly over the apartment number sign and peephole so both are still fully functional. Love me a quirky wreath.

Friyay Thrifty Bits: thrifted pants! Sweater I got on or around Boxing Day last year from Joe Fresh for about $5! Lol. Earrings are the last of my “subtle Christmas tree” week!

I just had the most delightful student come to my office for help before our midterm next week. They were so bubbly and friendly (and laughed at my jokes, thanks for humouring me), and just had this...joie de vivre. Best way to spend a Friday morning!

Currently standing in the photocopier room waiting for my 568 copies to print (142 tests x 7 pages) and good lord this printer is maybe the slowest on campus. It’s been 30 minutes and we’re up to page 452.
November 20, 2025 at 8:33 PM
Thursday Thrifty Bits: thrifted cardigan, shirt, and pants! Well, pants were from a vintage market, but almost same-same. We’re also continuing the “subtle Christmas tree” theme week with earrings.
November 20, 2025 at 7:39 PM
Dinner: the Mitchell’s Soup Co Lemon Orzo chicken soup tube! To add: chicken thighs, zucchini, onion, spinach, and parmesan cheese. Also extra lemon juice if desired (and season to taste; I can’t season anymore. lol). It’s one of my favourites!
November 19, 2025 at 10:54 PM
Wednesday Thrifty Bits: thrifted pants, and a beary good sweater from JYSK. Lol. Necklace is also thrifted, and I think it looks a bit like a strand of blueberries!

I JUST BOUGHT ANOTHER ADVENT CALENDAR, HOLD ME BACK JESUS.

I'm going to open it in January when I get back to Halifax after my yearly foray to ON for the holidays. I have something to look forward to in January now!

It's a Sad Nuggie advent calendar. It's a totally justified purchase. Shut up. 😎

At the bus stop! Mommy is off to the airport this morning to fly back to Ontario.

Believe it or not, today is our last cruise day Halifax! Here is the AidaDIVA arriving after her (probably very messy) Atlantic crossing. Welcome to Halifax, folks! Sorry we didn’t roll out the warmest of welcomes…

Does someone have a knitting or crochet pattern for an electron? If we get the fibre arts community on this, we’ll have thousands of new electrons in like…an hour.
brb making electrons
I laughed at loud. These people are so pathetic; our enemies are numbskulls. They will kill us all and still not know hs physics.

COWEN: The stupidest question possible: Why don’t we just make more GPUs?

ALTMAN: Because we need to make more electrons.

Dinner time! We went grocery shopping and now it’s time to not eat all the food I bought. Lol.

We’re at Sushi Jet tonight, ordering off the menu because I have zero self-restraint when it comes to AYCE.

Forbidden foods here: soy sauce, wasabi, beef, and pork. Oh and no soup or pop.

Tuesday Thrifty Bits: Thrifted sweater and necklace! I think this is Christmas Tree Week for earrings (yes, I do have several versions…why do you ask?! Lol)

And because I forgot yesterday: Sweater is Blizzard Bay, pants are thrifted!
November 18, 2025 at 7:35 PM
Off for…DINNER! The place we’re going doesn’t take reservations, so we go early!
November 17, 2025 at 9:27 PM
My kitchen counter now looks like a pharmacy. All of those are separated normally into 3 piles: first thing, 30min later (minimum) with a meal, or before bed.

Alright immune system. You’ve been nothing but a pain in the ass the last couple of years, time to be eliminated. 🫡
