It's a short list of Worcester candidates that take the time to reach out to residents that are primarily Spanish speaking. Thank you for caring about my neighbors and friends.

It's not that hard to be inclusive and reach out to others, sadly too many don't prioritize talking to everyone.

Another example of why the Carpenters have raised warnings about this developer (Synergy Investments) and general contractor (NEI).

What a lazy and poor way to store and protect this historical statue.

This was also a promise to taxpayers to win approval to build the Centrum. Taxpayers were told the Centrum would set aside free community days for which ctty groups/non-profits could apply.

Instead, that's turned into free days for State Police graduations & Repub/Dem conventions in recent years.

I've never seen what got codified into the Ballpark lease, but this is how former City Manager Augustus presented to the community how he personally negotiated a long list of community benefit which would include "10 community days".
kksen.bsky.social
What a disappointment. The Ballpark Commission is voting tomorrow morning on an application to use one of the free "community days" at the ballpark to host an "active shooter exercise".

What area do you expect to be in tomorrow so people can keep an eye out for you?

100 Bonus Points to anyone that snags a photo of Andrew on his Haxhiaj trek.

That's pretty cool.
Let's see what kind of action there is on those pins .

I should add, local investor and Chamber supporter, Jackson Restrepo (Restrepo Properties) was appointed to the WRA by the Governor yesterday. Today was his first meeting.
kksen.bsky.social
Peter Dunn, Director of Econ Dev, now discussing that WRA has a larger role in this project given that Madison Properties is in "default" of it's agreement with the City.
kksen.bsky.social
Moving on to the "Left Field Building" which Madison Properties was supposed to build and which Worcester taxpayers believed was part of the ballpark development agreement, but which we all found out later was apparently just "aspirational".

City paying an estimated $15,000/month to maintain the Denholm building. Menkiti Group counters with a willingness to pay $7,500/month. After discussion WRA agrees to lower figure.
kksen.bsky.social
Michael Angelini adds a little levity,

"“All I know about real estate is what I paid for my house.”
kksen.bsky.social
Menkiti currently working on securing taxpayer subsidies to cover the "unexpected costs of abatement and demolition" on the Denholm building. Menkiti Attorney Kenney agreeing to increased transparency by providing the City monthly updates.
kksen.bsky.social
Sitting in on this morning's WRA meeting. First up, Menkiti Group, the developer the City just fined for breaking the TIF agreement is now negotiating new financial arrangements due expectations of more delays for the redevelopment of the Denholm building.

Busy weeks at Carpenters Local 336. We're dedicated to having an impact in the upcoming Worcester municipal elections. Glad to include @linhares4worcester.bsky.social as one of the local candidates our members want to stand with this year.

Councilor Bergman is at least more honest than Councilor Toomey. He's straight up saying adopting the automatic sprinkler statute would most likley lead to large investors and property owners ending up having to pay more.
kksen.bsky.social
For anyone trying to understand why Councilor Toomey has taken such an angry and hostile position against Worcester adopting the Mass General Laws item on sprinklers needs to understand that Councilor Toomey continues to take significant campaign $$ from the development community.
kksen.bsky.social
Councilor Toomey currently offering up a symbolic resolution because she doesn't want to vote on the fire sprinkler resolution because it is only "symbolic".

So holding the preliminary election the day after Labor Day for one.
kksen.bsky.social
I'm baffled as to why Worcester keeps choosing to hold the preliminary election the day after Labor Day.

The vast majority of cities and towns choose the 9th or 16th

More than anything, I was just surprised to find out Mayor Petty considers himself a progressive.

This questionnaire certainly raises a few questions.
