My fierce great grandmother Lottie Saikin Spitzer, a Jewish immigrant from Poland, was a founding member of the ACWA. I believe she's the woman on the left in the center front of this photo

Hope and love are the only things stronger than fear and hate.
Hope resolutely, Love ferociously.
And garden if you can.

Prairie Sun rudbeckia, unusual coloring for a black eyed susan. It's pretty short lived and unreliable, but I've been lucky with some self seeding this year (too lazy to deadhead paying off) 🌱

I finally stuck it in to a whole mess of other plants hoping the rabbits wouldn't find it, seems to have worked

But the world wasn't invented the day you were born. There is a long history that has shaped a lot of what you see around you, much of which came about because people were able to freely move. Without those earlier periods of free migration, could you sell luxury watches?

Extremely wish I knew this when I was trying to pry the completely skinned rabbit out of my much smaller but shockingly strong jawed Boston 🤢

Last week mom and I went to hear "Quilting Field Trip Through the Natural World” with Anita Carpenter. Her very detailed and ecologically accurate quilts, sewn on her kitchen table, are amazing. These photos do not do justice. Her large scale landscapes and seascapes are absolutely beautiful.
