Market of Choice will host a food drive for Food for Lane County at its four Eugene locations from Oct. 9 through Nov. 30. In addition to the food donations, Food for Lane County’s Rebecca Sprinson said they’re also matching donations made at the checkout, up to $10,000.

The University of Oregon has reopened the two oldest buildings on its Eugene campus, following structural upgrades, including new HVAC systems, disability accommodations, and steel and concrete supports.

University Hall opened in 1876, and Villard Hall opened in 1886.

Springfield special education teacher Sally Golden has been named Oregon teacher of the year.

Golden was celebrated by her own students Friday, as well as Two Rivers-Dos Rios Elementary School students during a surprise ceremony.
