you’re unemployed. Your marriage is in shambles. You can’t see a doctor. Your water pressure is low because of the data center. Your son is addicted to sports gambling. But you’ve decided to focus your anger on trans girls in sports. There are 4 in your entire state 🥴

Murder.

Fuck ICE. Fuck this regime. And fuck anyone who voted for these pud tugging fuckwits or decided not to vote at all. They're all complicit.

Tonight is the annual Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever watch.

Whoa, sir. That's a lot of days.

Maybe it's not obvious, but my work computer is a Mac because the Windows or you-slick-em Linux laptops didn't have enough go-go juice for the development I needed to do. I'm counting down the days until I can upgrade to a new laptop that doesn't suck (Linux).

To be fair, my first development happened in BASIC on an Apple IIc, but ffs the world became a better place when Linus gifted us his kernel.

Why the fuck did the industry go backward? What happened? Was it LSD? Or not enough LSD? Or the wrong flavor of LSD? WTF, y'all?

Totally random question as I sit here on my Linux machine and think back over my tech-then-not-tech-then-back-to-tech career. What the everloving fuck happened in my not-tech period where everyone shifted from developing on Linux to developing on Macs?

Much hiding did, indeed, happen. And then the next day, it was Teh Onslaught as my company's annual conference necessitated ass-on-fire levels of go, which usually means all the people-ing.

I'm grateful for the opportunity to speak in front of larger than expected crowds, but now I can haz no people time? I mean, except for returning to work right away...

It's the last night at Grace Hopper Celebration, and time is warping to make it seem like last month, but also just yesterday, that I joined with an amazing crew of coworkers to deliver two sessions. The topics of female rage and promoting diversity by rejecting binaries were well-received.

I forgot that rush you get when the code you're wrangling just... works.

Did not expect a win since I'm learning C# as I go on this project, but hot damn. Please, sir, may I have another?

"This is all a distraction." No, this is fascism. This is an authoritarian regime that is becoming more controlling every day. They're dismantling aspects of the government they don't like while funneling money into concentration camps and a giant army of masked gestapo members.

How many Scovilles does it take to get to the center of a coronavirus particle? Asking for me because i don't have time for this shit.

Democrats run on this simple platform: The GOP is a party of pedophiles and people who protect pedophiles. They send the military to take over American cities. They use your taxpayer money to build concentration camps and employ kidnappers.

These things are true.

Why are vet appointments so expensive? They didn't used to be this bad.

My new tea corner, where I keep several cups' worth of loose teas in yogurt jars and unwrapped teabags in tins. The extra loose tea goes in the tea cabinet for jar refills. Wrapped teabags are in a drawer. We'll see how well this works.

I'm excited about WorldCon this week. It's extra awesome that I just have to ride the light rail to get to it. Since I usually walk about 12-15k steps every day I'm at the convention center, I expect to be in great pain when I hit the rheumatologist the next week. Worth it, tho.

Why did no one tell me how amazing a quesadilla is with Serrano freshly picked from your potted plant?

TFW when you're minding your own damn business and unexpectedly walk by a relic on the table.

Dying to know if these had manuscripts on them and whether they survived...

I love this for you! I'd love to see an Underground Kirstin fighting fascism one paintbrush stroke and one how-to-scheme-like-the-rich tip at a time.

If I'm moving on, I want to do something good. Like, socially good. Connecting people in a healthy way, FOSS, tech justice, games for good, etc. Or else I want to grow a goatee and become Evil KL and be an absolute menace.

I feel like it's time for a change of pace. Or maybe new career direction. So much layoff. So much omgwtf.

I'll throw in the bookstore, too. They were put way out of the way, had no signage, and almost no announcements of events. I cannot imagine how much money the vendors lost this weekend. After seeing this, I'd never recommend vending next year, but I hope some will (if there's a next year).
Geekfest did an excellent job consolidating the experience and opening the facility up. Kudos! THAT SAID. Y'all Flubbed the marketing of this event, its vendors, and outside performances. Specifically, the flash tattoo artists and drag performance were not promoted well at all. Year 2. Meh.
