If you see what you think is art of a pretty blond with perfect clean girl features and a willowy form draped in pink silks being protected by a knight dressed in a full suit of 16th century armour, it is AI. It is not Pre-Raphaelite art. It’s trash. Treat that accordingly.

As a medievalist, I’ve already spent years navigating the RETVRN bros on the internet. I was at first sort of excited to see younger women being interested in medieval history, but then I realized it was just tradwife stuff with dragons and knights set to a slowed down rendition of the Stranglers.

I also can’t help but notice a sort of creeping traditionalism in the AI art that is less present in the true art of the 19th century. The women are always prettier, fairer, more modest, the men are depicted as strong fully armoured faceless knights.

Art is so polluted with AI these days. I was looking at Pre-Raphaelite art, and tbh there is a lot of mediocre genuine pieces from that era that get thrown in alongside beautiful works, but I blame the TikTok ‘neo-medieval movement’ for this slop. The garbage of men in full plate including helms.

Mizora is doing better now. I really never know any longer what her day is going to look like. Thank you to everyone who reached out. It’s been a rough 10 months dealing with this and I hope everyone’s pets live long and healthy lives. It’s like dealing with an elderly cat who’s only two.
