Some good news for women's safety: A jury ordered Uber to pay $8.5 million to a woman who was raped by one of its Arizona drivers in 2023.

Maybe now Uber will take this issue seriously, as precedent has been set. Kudos to the brave woman for holding them to account.

Can you tell I'm angry.

I am so angry.

Epstein victims have been speaking to law enforcement for 30 years, and the only person in prison for the rape, torture, and victimization of children for 30 years is a woman.

DOJ failed for 30 years.

Canada needs a national anti-corruption investigative agency - and independent prosecutors - to root out corruption in policing, government, and politics.

The extent of alleged corruption revealed in "Project South" indicates a lot more corruption to be found - if Canada has the will and capacity.

As a doctor, I am horrified by what I saw at the Whipple detention facility in Minneapolis.

No medical protocols.

No real medical care.

No nurse on site when I visited.

No beds. No real blankets. Extremely cold temperatures. Minimal food.

These conditions are inhumane and unacceptable.

The Carney govt's rhetoric and actions here directly feed into anti-immigrant sentiment, xenophobia and, ultimately, white supremacy. The govt's implicit message helps drive some really ugly momentum.

Mark Carney must see courting Pierre Poilievre's young white male base as worth the trade-off.
breachmedia.ca/as-a-doctor-... ‘The cuts to this program are not happening within a vacuum. They are taking place in a broader context of heightened anti-immigration rhetoric and policies like Bill C-12 that will make it easier for people to lose their status and be deported.’

Over the last 30 years, corporate profits have doubled while corporate taxes have been slashed – all with the promise that benefits would eventually flow to working people.

Today, people are still waiting as wealth piles up at the top and the cost of living only soars. We need real solutions.

It is terrifying that measles is spreading among children held in US concentration camps.

This is not a policy debate — it is an immediate threat to children’s lives.

Measles can cause encephalitis (brain swelling), brain damage, and respiratory failure in children.

This is one reason I keep trying to remind people of the power that we have. That we have *always* had. Not because I’m in denial, but because I know history. I’m no sophisticated intellectual, but I do know we’re going to win even though the bad shit is really terrible right now.

Canadian media, including the Globe and CBC, need to cool it with these clickbait headlines. Serious issues like climate and public health have no place for that nonsense.

"Should you bother getting vaccinated?"

"Can we still have electric vehicles?"

Cut it out.
What an absolutely idiotic headline from the Globe & Mail.
