Drivers are assumed to be always moving forward unless their machine has been totaled, you can only maintain position in a race by continuing to go fast. Passing zones can be placed one after another, as can corners, multiple turns are pretty common in race tracks

Races do not take place on a hex or square grid, the race track is sectioned into Corners and Passing zones and the players take turns attempting the corner or overtaking as they go through these zones. Player with the highest position at the finish line is the winner

earning points and podiums will make sponsors happy, and with them you can afford parts and enter more races. Losing or getting your machine demolished in a crash won't guarantee the sponsors drop you, but they might need to be convinced your team can win races

Your mech can be damaged by wiping out on corners or by other machines depending on the rules of the Race, some governing bodies allow ramming and weapons, make sure you check the regulations before trying to move another driver out of your way

Corners are taken as pilot skill tests, with handling and acceleration granting more speed at the end of the turn. Straight sections of track allow you to attempt to overtake other drivers, this is where engineering comes in as drivers will push their engines to pass other machines

Position is a function of your mech's speed stat with penalties and bonuses applied from corners and is the representation of your standing in the race. Having a low position doesn't mean you're out, just that you have to fight back up to first place

your primary stats are Handling, Acceleration, Speed, and Engineering with each of the big four manufacturers represented. IPS-N may seem like a strange pick for motorsports but they do have the patent for the Nelson's perpetual momentum drive

This image was assembled using near-UV and near-IR photos to create a pseudo-true color view. My procedure for creating this image exaggerates the coloration and detail visible in the clouds, which show very little detail in the visible portion of the spectrum.
