one of my favorite bgs to date is this single panel of the back hallway of the piano bar. all the steps of the staircase are slightly off-kilter, and it feels SO much better than if they were all straight lines in perfect perspective

like, I always think I've made my inks organic enough, and then I take a step back and see all the places they're too sterile. fucking up the lines is my favorite part of inking bgs, haha!!!

preliminary background inks are done. time to make the inks look Worse. :)

(and I do mean worse in the sense that I'm gonna go in and purposefully make the lines stray EVEN MORE off perspective. I find the eye gets fatigued looking at lines that are too immaculate!!)

man, had a dream last night I was Frenchie from The Boys just having a very nice time with a lady friend. I think I should allowed to be Frenchie from The Boys from here on out. I would be very good at being Frenchie. (also this means I get to hang out with Karen Fukuhara)
