Pinned
Now I’m going to have to post something good enough to pin, aren’t I?
The goodwill and support for Robin Ince on this site has restored at least a fraction of my faith in humanity. Not a single negative comment here. A good man had done a great thing.

As a person repeatedly disappointed by Oxford, aside from its historic buildings, I’m determined not to make the same mistake with Cambridge. Going again this weekend. Please recommend things to do in Cambs- books/food/drink/arts you know the deal.

Fool that I am, I’ve only just realised that the loud metallic beat that clangs out in the first verse of Costello’s I Hope That You’re Happy Now happens after he says ‘a horse that knows arithmetic’ and is clearly the horse’s hoof bashing out its answer to a puzzle. What a brilliant musical gag.

No no no no no no no no NEVER let American shows come to London. It will all be cameos for Geri Halliwell and Richard Branson, and a posh star (Joanna Lumley?) affecting a cockney accent. There will be comedy policemen. A minor royal played by Eddie Redmayne. I veto this. I VETO IT.

Fresh out in the world of #JustOverheard: in Waitrose just now I saw a small boy reach eagerly for a mini-Sellotape dispenser, followed by the words from his mum “No Tom, no Sellotape today”.
