I previously had my Mastodon account bridged to this platform, but thought I'd give hanging out here a shot, as opposed to having my posts mirrored.

About me: I like to draw on paper, I live on a sailboat in the Salish Sea, I love seabirds, making comics, and fermenting vegetables.

100%. In this same line of thought I find it very irritating that i can't get some friends to watch fantastic animated series like Scavengers Reign, it's aimed at adults, but many won't give it a chance because "it's animated"... it is indeed very insane.

Mastodon has been my main platform since 2018, I still love it there, but I opened an account here a few weeks ago to connect with more artists, and hell, can confirm that arriving somewhere new is haaaard.

I feel like such an outsider XD...

Trying to carve a place for yourself on a new platform is such a challenge. I understand why people don't want to start over elsewhere when the platform starts having problems.

VC-funded communities are liable to enshittification, they have to start making money sometime and that's usually when it gets worse for users.
I just started using BlueSky to connect with artists (Mastodon doesn't have as many artists), so its sad to see this fuckery happening yet again, so fast.

a short comic featuring humanoid dogs. In the first panel, the dog sees someone struggling to free a car from the snow. The dog walks over and starts to help, "Feelin' so guuud!" they say. The dog begins to help pushing the car, "Helping others! YEA!" they say, grinning while pushing. Suddenly they stop, in a panic, "OMG! It's NOT moving! We're going to die out here!" The other dog next to him says, "You can leave like... anytime." In the last frame, in a closeup, the helping dog is being very dramatic, sweating and laying limply over the bumper of the car "I've got NOT arm strength!" they yell. The other dog is annoyed and says, "Plz leave."

Browsing YouTube with an adblocker is a godsend, it's gotten so so baaaad... (i occasionally have to browse without one. So much garbage and disinformation). Some ads also are like, 15-30 minutes long now??

I didn't get to make any new comic pages this summer :<, I had too many other projects to complete, but I've been sketching the characters themselves a lot.

For those unfamiliar with Hundred Rabbits, a studio I share with my partner, we operate out of a 10 m sailboat, we write about our travels, and make tiny software and art.
