On the web and in the con-guide: snippets of the third-ever Otakon convention. This was the first US convention I ever heard about, and the first one I would attend years later in '03 and '04.

I remember seeing this site at the time, browsing it on my college's internet connection.

In an alternate timeline, the cartoon network aired Iria at 2am instead of Ninja Scroll and fandom today looks so much different than it does.

Also we all transitioned about 10 years earlier than we did.
