generational slang has been an interest of mine for generations. now i;m old it's fun fucking with the kiddos using their slang properly then mixing in stuff from the 1920s or 60's with their new or retro-new slang :)
yeah... this was a fucked up movie :)
i remember this well.

in a word with a project 2025, i'm not sure if ”There's No One In Charge” or ”Whatever The Fuck Is Happening In The States Now” is more freighting.

heh, all of those ”... fight a 100 dick sized tanks or 1 tank sized dick” make sense now.
Software-Defined-Boundaries

can we fucking design for consent already? yeah, i’m a xyzzillion years late, but ID requirement shit + You as-a Product is batshit.

not a fan of web3/crypto; decentralized is awesome.

besides “old lady yells at cloud services”, any ideas what the fuck to do?
plus the hell of:
- y ”At Scale”

can we work on Empathy At Scale?

---

”-at scale” and ”X as-a Y” needs ”Responsibility”.

ie: Goole is At Scale.
- ever need help? have you ever talked to anyone who _could_ help?
- yell at sky until go away.

Responsibility at Scale should apply.
- this language validates and makes it ok to productize everything.
- this is not ok.

taken to extremes, it's CaaS: consumers as-a Service, and in an attention economy, it's selling Attention as-a Service.

i guess that's modern advertising, SEO, and not AI Optimization and ATS if you hunt...
X as-a Y.

- it's a buzzword.

- it's everywhere, and has been for a while

- it's not as sexy as AI, but it's insidious as it reframes bullishit into monthly subscription dollars by reframing into providers and consumers.

what it really wants to be is ”Devotion as-a Service”

(it's a DB w/ CRUD)
this could go wrong in so very, very many ways...

... how can i help?
wow!

that's a vibe!

and an entire aesthetic!

speaking of ”entire aesthetic computer companies” i miss SGI.
- all their gear was just too damn sexy.
do you find the company name offensive as well?

it'd be like renaming the title of POTUS to Big Brother or something...
heh. was not expecting to see somebody from this angle waking up and logging into blue sky...

... but yes I had that problem until I started using a roc 'n' sock drum stool as a chair.

between guitar and vr-motion stuff it's practical. + reminds me to take breaks.
let's use their ai video gen to make it!

Me, every time I’m forced to interface with some stupid ai bullshit post 2010:
i had to do that as early models got the calibration blown to hell in a couple of scenarios, to the point the touchscreen wouldn't work and the error couldn't be detected.

the industrial design team didn't want any buttons besides the touchscreen...

best choice in a bad situation.
your ev charger: i did the firmware on that thing. architected, lead the very small team, and wrote a lot of the low level stuff.

that hw was... special.

i also did the commercial and dc fast charger firmware.
my test website is in html, i'm using cnd.exe to ssh to aws and cowbeing code my blog post live using sudo nano.

it was a long 'blog entry, hence cmd spanning 2 monitors. word-wrapping is too new.
seriously, though... i don't have an answer, but i did have a laserjet iii when it first came out.

what a truly beautiful unit of form, function, and excellence!

also, tektronix. i think hp ate them, but i remember it was a special day whenever the tektronix catalog came in!

1: to finish the idea, that just about everything *can* be measured in $ means it's easy to optimize around $: it's a single variable.

this fascinates a lot of people.

--=

the problem is that just because everything can be measured in $ doesn't mean it's representative of the thing being measured
one of the reasons this is happening is because of copy-paste business ideas and the fundamentals of why they work: money is intertwined in enough things that when we try to plot [thing] on a graph, there's almost always a $ axis in the basis¹.

--> we need a copy-paste protest method to fight this.

The enemy of my enemy is not my friend, but he is occasionally a temporarily useful tool (and David Icke is definitely a tool)
David Icke, notorious English peddler of anti-Semitic conspiracy theories about lizard people, is calling out Elon Musk on Twitter and it is fascinating to watch:
of course, my calendar popped up with ”j. r. lallo's birthday” on that day, but i ignored it as the previous several reminders caused me to happy birthday you on incorrect dates...

... so apologies and a belated ”happy birthday, jo!”
i'd have pointed to my shoulder, my elbow, and my wrist and said 'krista'...

... like when challenged to say the alphabet backwards for the first time i turned my back to my mother and started ”a... b... c... d...”
